RowBranch Ground · Egypt
Your team in Egypt, looked after.
Ground is your operations team in Cairo. We buy and fix their laptops, book their desks and their rides, put them on a health plan and chase the claims, get them together, and tell you every month how they are doing. Whoever employs them keeps employing them.

The problem
You hired in Egypt. Then the second job started.
Hiring was the easy part. Everything after it landed on someone who already had a full-time job, and it is nobody's title, so it happens late or not at all.
A laptop dies on a Sunday
Nobody at head office knows a repair shop in Cairo. The engineer loses a week, or buys their own machine and puts it on an expense claim.
Day one is a laptop that has not arrived
Customs, a courier and a start date that slips. The new joiner spends their first week on a personal machine, or waiting.
The health plan is a policy nobody uses
You pay for cover. The new joiner was never enrolled, the claim came back refused in Arabic, and nobody had the hour to argue it.
The team has never met
Two years, one city, no dinner. They are names on a call rather than people who cover for each other, and a new joiner meets nobody.
You find out when the notice arrives
From abroad you cannot see someone drifting. There is no warning sign in a standup. The first signal is a resignation you did not expect.
Replacing them costs a quarter
Sourcing in a market you do not know, notice periods, onboarding, and the context that walks out with them. The saving you hired for disappears in one exit.
None of this is a hiring problem. It is an operations problem, in a country your head office has never been to, and it decides whether the people you hired stay.
What it is
An operations team in Cairo, on your side.
Ground is a team of people in Egypt who do the physical and local work your remote team needs. We buy, configure and repair the laptops. We book the desks and the rides. We choose the health cover, enrol your people and argue the claims. We feed them, get them together, produce the swag and walk the paperwork into whichever office wants it.
You keep your employment arrangement exactly as it is. You keep directing the work. We take the operations, and every month we tell you how your people are doing.
- Not an employerWhoever employs your team keeps employing them. Nothing about contracts, payroll or notice changes.
- Not a dashboardPeople in Cairo who answer the phone and sign for the laptop, not a ticket queue in another timezone.
- Not a projectIt runs every month, for a flat fee per person, on one statement with receipts.
What's included
Everything a remote team needs that no platform can hand over.
A platform can sell you a policy, a payslip and a shipping label. None of that puts a working laptop on someone's desk in Maadi, argues a medical claim, or books the bus. We do not just put your people to work. We look after them, and we tell you how they are doing.
Equipment, delivered and maintained
The laptop arrives configured at the door, and it stays working.
- Bought, imaged and set up before the start date
- Repairs and servicing, with a loaner while a machine is out
- Swaps and upgrades the same week, in Cairo and Alexandria
- Screens, chairs, headsets and anything else they need
- Custody tracked, collected or bought out when someone leaves
Workspace and getting there
A desk where they actually live, and the ride that gets them to it.
- A desk booked in a coworking space near home, across Cairo, Giza and Alexandria
- A private office when the team is big enough
- Commuting arranged on the local ride and bus apps, on a company account we manage
- Rides to the office, to the airport and to team events
- Month to month, moved when someone moves
Health and wellness
A platform can sell a policy. Someone still has to make it work in Cairo.
- Private medical cover, chosen from the local market and enrolled here
- Claims chased, approvals argued, renewals handled by a person who picks up
- Gym memberships at a branch near home
- Wellness sessions: mental health, physiotherapy, coaching
- Meal credits that work where they actually eat
Team life and trips
The part that turns a list of names into a team.
- Monthly dinners and quarterly offsites
- Trips: the Red Sea, the North Coast, a weekend away
- Visiting colleagues met, housed and looked after
- Venue, catering and transport arranged and at cost
Swag and kits
Your brand, in their hands, on day one and after.
- Welcome kits assembled and delivered with the laptop
- Branded swag produced locally: hoodies, bottles, notebooks
- Gifts for birthdays, new babies and work anniversaries
- Anything shipped to the door, anywhere in Egypt
Checks and paperwork
The documents that have to be walked into an office.
- Background and reference checks before a start date
- Visa and travel letters for the team and for visitors
- Custody forms and handover records, one file per person
- Candidate sourcing on request, fee only on a successful hire
Why it matters
Equipment is the easy part.
Anyone can ship a laptop. What decides whether someone stays is whether they feel part of a company they have never visited. A remote team nobody sees drifts, quietly, and you find out when the resignation arrives.
-
Someone has their back
When the laptop dies, the claim is refused or a landlord wants a letter, a person in Cairo picks it up. Nobody loses a Tuesday arguing with an insurer, and nobody has to ask their manager abroad for help with a local problem.
-
They know each other
Dinner every month, an offsite every quarter, a trip once a year. Names in a chat window turn into people who cover for each other, and a new joiner meets the team in week one instead of month six.
-
The company feels close, not far
The kit with your logo on day one. The gym on your account. A session booked when someone is burning out, and no explanation required. Small things that say a company thought about them, in a country the head office has never seen.
We have been doing exactly this for one engineering team in Egypt for three years. It is the part of the job that never shows up on an invoice, which is why we now report on it as well.
How your team is doing
You already see what it cost. You should see how they are.
The statement tells you what was spent. These tell you whether the money did anything for the people it was spent on.
The ground report
Person by person, what actually happened, and what needs you.
- The device they have, and anything that went wrong with it
- Desk, commute and benefits: what is set up and what is being used
- Who came to the gathering, and who has not come to the last two
- What we are handling for them next month
- Flags worth your attention: cover nobody has touched, a machine on its third repair, a person who has gone quiet
Arrives with the statement, on one page.
We ask them
A short set of questions to the people on Ground, in their own language.
- How they feel about their setup, workspace and commute
- Whether the benefits are worth having, and whether they use them
- Whether they feel connected to the team and to your company
- What they would change first
You get the scores and the themes. Results are aggregated and comments are anonymised, so people answer honestly rather than telling you what you want to hear.
Both start in your first month, at no extra charge. We will not show you a number we did not measure: the reports begin the day you do, and the trend is yours from there.
Proof
Running every month, for a real team.
Ground is the practice its founder ran by hand for three years before it became a product: laptops in custody, desks, benefits, monthly dinners and quarterly offsites for a US software company's engineering team in Egypt.
“We’ve worked with the RowBranch team for over three years. They run our engineering team in Egypt end-to-end: contractors, payroll, tooling, even our team events, all under one monthly statement, and they handle the on-the-ground details we couldn’t handle from the US. If you’re building a team in Egypt, I’d recommend them.”
How it runs
Three steps, then the same rhythm every month.
- 1
Tell us who is where
Names, cities, start dates, and what each person needs. Ten minutes on a call, or a spreadsheet.
- 2
Day one is set up
Laptop, desk, benefits and kit ready before the start date. An existing team is onboarded within a week.
- 3
One statement a month
The per-person fee plus what was used, at cost, receipts attached. Funds in before we pay suppliers.
What it costs
One fee per person. Everything else at cost.
Quoted for your team within 24 hours, and the statement you see is the statement you get.
A flat monthly fee for each person we look after, and every laptop, repair, desk, premium, gym, trip and hoodie billed at its actual price with the receipt. Nothing is marked up.
Every account carries a minimum of $300 a month in service fees, so we can staff it properly. No setup fee, no lock-in, and you can start with one person for one month. How the statement is built

FAQ
Before you ask for a quote.
Do we have to change how our people are employed?
No. Nothing about employment changes. Ground runs alongside whatever you use today, whether that is a global platform, a local partner, your own entity or contractor agreements.
Do you maintain the laptops, or only deliver them?
Both. We buy the machine, image it and deliver it, then repair it, service it, lend a spare while it is out, swap it when it ages, and collect it when someone leaves. A dead laptop in Cairo is our problem, not a ticket.
Who owns the laptops?
Your choice: leased through us monthly on the statement, or bought for you at cost. Either way we hold custody, handle repairs and swaps, and retrieve them when someone leaves.
How do we know any of this is working?
Two ways, both starting in your first month. Every month you get a ground report: person by person, what was set up, what was used, who came to the gathering, and anything worth your attention. Every quarter we ask the team directly and send you the scores and the themes, aggregated, with comments anonymised so the answers are honest. We do not publish satisfaction numbers from other clients, because we only started measuring when we started reporting.
Will our team answer a survey honestly if we are paying for it?
That is why results are aggregated and comments are anonymised before you see them. You get the scores and the themes, never who said what. It is the only way the answers are worth reading.
Our platform already offers health insurance. How is this different?
A platform sells a policy. Ground works the local market for the right cover, enrols people, then chases the claim, argues the approval and handles the renewal from Cairo. The same goes for the gym, wellness sessions and meal credits, which are arranged where your people actually live.
Do you handle transport?
Yes. Commuting arranged on the local ride and bus apps, on a company account we manage, plus rides to the office, the airport and team events. Billed at cost on the statement.
Which cities do you cover?
Cairo and Giza fully. Alexandria for equipment and desks. Other cities by arrangement.
Can we start with one person?
Yes. A one-person, one-month pilot is the normal way to start.
How does Ground bill?
One statement a month: a flat fee per person plus what your team used, at cost, with receipts. Every account carries a minimum of $300 a month in service fees. No setup fee, and you can stop at the end of any month.
Can we add employment later?
Yes, but only if you want it. RowBranch can also be the legal employer in Egypt or hold contracts worldwide, and Ground works exactly the same either way. See the other products
